In cases such as this, both parenting members are hardly deployed to serve overseas. There are military families everywhere that have both parents in the services but one member is always stationed stateside to oversee the child. Common sense does exist within our government sometimes.

You're expressing some real life concerns as you should, and that's cool. I think that most of the people that read this bill immediately think "OMG They're sending me to war!!" when that's clearly not the case. Could you be deployed in the event of a war? Sure, but even as a "conscious objector" you can still enlist in a non-combatant MOS.
