Just cause they have the "right" to search doesn't mean they will. But ya, the honesty is the best policy clearly worked in this situation lol.
that's why prior convictions, no matter how prior, always come back to bite you in the ass...if this had been my first run-in with this type of situation then i could have talked my way into a 'goodnight officer', and driven myself on home with a ticket for being 22 and my liscence saying i'm under 21 still.
