Go to Alaska in October, Head to Bearing Straight. Work 80 straight hours (the entire crab catchin season) releasing and reeling 200+ 800lb crab traps...On a boat covered in ice on 20 ft ocean swells, and stand on the side so you can get dragged in. Realize that 70% of the catch value goes to the boat owner, who is at home, the captain gets the next 20%, and three to five guys that are IN the elements divide the rest.
Nope, I'm buyin my seafood from someone , NOT catchin it.

Very true. One of the only things that truly scare me is being lost in the ocean. Ironic how a show like that would interest me, but it does. I Tivo'd it and watched most of the shows last night. What's cool is how the captains of the boats navigate. Those guys really have to know their stuff. I'd be a basket case myself. I get cranky when there's too many people out on Lake Lanier myself.....can't hang with freaking 20 ft seas of freezing water.....

Does make me appreciate the all you can eat crab legs night a little more....
