correction, in order to race it had to be available as a production car and be offered for sale on at least 2 continents within 12 months of the rules being issued. They made 10 street cars just so they could stuff the bigass V8 under the hood of a the 3-series on the track but then the ALMS still overruled them due to it still being under the amount made for a "production" car. It's all bullshit because they never said how many had to be made, just as long as it was road legal, available for sale on 2 continents, and all done within 12 months...in which they met all the criteria for.
