yeah, govt buildings can take as long as they want, because state and govt contract workers can pretty much do as they please....so it wouldnt be a suprise if they contracted a few buford hwy workers on the side to do the work they are suppose to be doing....it happens in the construction business.

Here's how I see it, people use the US as a scapegoat for a easier life. In some cases, it is. But for most, it's not. I've had family come to this country legally and granted the US dollar was worth more than the native money, they had to work just as hard, if not harder to buy a house and buy the things they wanted, as in where they were from, things were not that bad and they worked and still had do the stuff that they wanted. They didnt have to pay all this insurance for vehicles, and didnt have to deal with excess tax on SUV's. anyways, they left and went back and couldnt be happier.
People always think the grass is greener on the other side, but people who use that excuse are losers, because if they cant make do with what they have, what makes them think they will make it here? You think standing outside waiting for a work truck is making money? I couldnt tell you how many times a truck comes by and only takes 10guys out of 100's and the rest just stand there hoping someone else comes by, but they dont.

Illegals are beneficial in a large amount of ways to the US Economy and Culture but they drain alot elsewhere (e.g. drug trade, schools [violent gangs]). There needs to be a control on the borders now; man handle them, if any of them attempts to get across, dont hesitate to shoot, let US counter their militia tactics with our very own US Military. We shouldnt go around deporting every last one of them, let them get what they want, their rights, equality, the chance to become legal, and work permits. Perhaps the only negative aspect of this plan i see is inflation will ensue.

Let me just say this....houses and jobs less than desired would still be on going....who do you think built the houses before illegal immigration ran rampant in the US? American citizens were building them, but then the illegal population began to say that they would work next to nothing...same goes for the jobs that are not so fantastic. The US Military would not intervene because it's illegal for them to do that unless Marshall Law is declared, but the Gov of each state can call up the National Guard to do policing and such.
I dont feel shooting people who try to cross is the right answer either...expand the budget of the Border Patrol and make the huge ass fence they want to make....and for man power, like I said before...Arizona and Texas and California have National Guard units, and instead of having them do "drills" 1 weekend a month, stagger it and have them do border patrol duties. For the ones here, a 0 tolerance policy they are on a temporary visa until they can find work hold it for 1 year and then given a chance for a full citizenship, and if any get convicted for any sort of crime they are deported immediatly with no questions asked.
Alex, I'm glad you are happy that the latino community was able to get together on a large scale and unite, but I feel this is the wrong thing to do...illegal immigration is not something people should rally about.

Actually, there was no form of GOVT in the America's at the time of the first settlers. All the "native american" tribes were in wars with each other and there was no united from of allegiance. Therefore, the land did not belong to anyone. They were actually like gypsies, they traveled and followed the herds of buffalo all across the America's, so who's really to say where they lived when they moved every couple of months or so?
