Damn, I think your gonna have to change your screen name. Good choice, but should look at the new ones theyll cost around the same. Meaning the regular GT's. But you wont be as fast.

very jealous....that's what I wanted before I started school again, with under 1k worth of mods you can get that thing to really move...

you should really wait till the new cobra comes out, the 03-04's will drop in price pretty quickly as the die hard Cobra guys will trade theirs in for the new model

mr2 will be sold. I doubt I will have much desire to drive it after I drop $1k in the Cobra and run 11s.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of the new bodystyle. Plus I love how solid the 03 motors are from the factory.

When do the new Cobras come out? I might wait it out. I didn't know they were coming out with one anytime soon :X

What year model is the MR2 and how much is your insurance. And how tall are you. (I love MR2's and am in need of a new car, okay not really, but i would be intressted. And im 6'2 1/2" and the S2000 i was in a few weeks ago wasnt the best thing to be in if i was 2 inches taller.)

I'm 5'10 and it is great. I have a friend who is 6'5 and drove my old one. They are actually pretty roomy for what they are.

Not sure I could wait that long :/ Eventhough I know the prices are going to drop like crazy at that time. Especially if I get one now. If I waited they probably wouldnt drop at all. I'm a jinx.

And I forgot. My mr2 is a 91 and I'm not sure about insurance. It actually isnt too much because the car is so old. I will check tomorrow if youre interested.

well, I still give that one props, at least it's done right.....most people who do the Cobra R conversion forget about the side exhaust...

my only complaint....wrong rims....the Cobra R motorsports are ugly with those fake rivets...

the cobra r is a sick as hell car.....and all he did was made a replica of a very very very rare color....

The Ford Special Vehicle Team’s 2000 SVT Mustang Cobra R is the pony car icon taken to the extreme of pure performance. Developed specifically for racing, 300 of these vehicles will be built at Ford’s Dearborn Assembly Plant in March, 2000, and shipped to selected SVT certified dealers.
Cobra R equipment includes a 385-horsepower (estimated) 5.4-liter 4-valve DOHC V8 engine from Ford’s modular family, a McLeod aluminum flywheel, a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, 18 x 9.5-inch wheels and tires, Brembo 4-piston aluminum front brake calipers, Eibach racing springs, and a 21-gallon Fuel Safe fuel cell. A rear wing and front splitter provide high-speed aerodynamic stability. The car’s top speed is more than 170 mph.

    no, only the 03+....

but that's arguable too, the Cobra R is a limited production vehicle and only a select few were able to put the car thru it's paces, and most of the magazines fucked that up, and the 03+ Cobra is factory supercharged, so forced induction always helps.

there are a handful of Cobra R owners who did put blowers on their cars, but theres really no info on how much power they made or what they run and what not.

The wing on the Cobra are is so fugly. I wonder if it's actually functional. It would look a little better if they moved it back to where it would be flush, or almost flush with the edge of the trunk lid.

they said during wind tunnel testing that it is very functional....the car was meant to be sold as a showroom road racer, so on the back straights hitting 160+mph the rear end would stay put....I hated the wing at first too, but if you look at the lines and body of the car, it works.....

I just dont agree with all these other poor saps who put them on their cars without the full bodykit conversion.

The 03-04 Cobra is one of the 2 cars that would make me totally drop my planned Supra project. I test drove a 04 Cobra at a dealership and wow they haul some ass. The other car that would make me turn my back on the MKIV is the 06 Vette, especially having family that works for GM and I can snag one brand new for just under 35k!!

So somebody please tell me I wouldnt be crazy for taking one of those 2 options over the Supra this summer, cuz I'm having serious doubts right now.

I think I answered my own question with my last post. Get the Vette and if I decide I wanna do the Supra still, then resell it and have $15-20k left over. That was easy, haha.

Have you ever seen the TT kits for 03 Cobras? The last one I saw put down 990whp on stock block with only cams and other cheap basic mods (fuel upgrades and stuff). Think you could build a 1000+hp RELIABLE Supra for under 10k? I have always been a huge fan of imports, Toyota especially..but IMO Cobra wins hands down in almost every performance aspect. Not to mention I'm willing to bet a 1000hp TT Cobra has a better and more useable power curve than a 1000hp Supra with a huge single. But then again, I could be wrong. It's just my opinion on the matter Supras are cool cars though.
