    Default Motorex owner jailed!

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the owner of Motorex, Nanahoshi Hiroaki, 33, was arrested Thursday and booked into the L.A. County Jail. He is being held on $1 Million bail.

    Booking Details

Hiroaki's initial appearance is scheduled for Wednesday of this week.

Hiroaki and Motorex came to the recognition of Nissan enthusiasts in the US as they became the only Registered Importer legally authorized to legalize Skylines for US use. As Motorex was able to comply with stringent US crash-testing requirements, they petitioned the courts to protect their interest in the Skyline market by "locking out" other would-be importers from the list of necessary modifications.

Not only did this give Motorex a corner on the market for legal Skylines, it also allowed them to command a premium price for each legalized car. Motorex-prepped Skylines can fetch upwards of $50,000. While making loads of money, Motorex also made loads of enemies.

According to sources, the lease to the Motorex facility has been overdue for months, and is now locked out by the landlord.

The US Department of Transportation has offically rescinded importation eligibility for both the R32 and R34 Skylines, only 96-98 R33 Skylines are still eligible to be imported.

Skylines are nice cars, but I wouldn't come any where close to calling them, or the people that drive them, "kings"... It's a nice car, but nothin' THAT amazing...

I met this kid at a meet in new york over the summer with an r33... one of the biggest douchebags i've met in my life. The kid had no clue what the fuck he was driving aside from the fact that the name was in fast and furious.

We were just fucking with him. At one point i convinced him that the car had 3 turbos.

    God bless spoiled rich kids.

no, ive driven them, and they are overrated, fat assed, pieces of junk. Even the GTR isnt that great. its like a fullsize sports car kinda i guess. For the money over here, they are fine, but in the states, buy an AMG benz for hte cash you drop on a skyline

Now I know why that skyline in the for sale forum is up for sale, it cany be legalized and its a good chance if the gov't finds out that he has the car it could be seized bt the gov.

I dont think any of the R34's in the country are legal.. if they are its probably a hand full if that.

And if I'm not mistaken the RB26 can be pushed up to 800whp+.. so the GTR is crap? For the looks and potential alone the car is amazing.

that's still up for the courts to decide whether they want to grandfather already imported cars or take them away. the R33 is still able to be imported when done properly as motorex did all of the crash testing and other required epa/dot tests to get it legal. there are still people importing the r32's and 34's though on the east coast, although it's a fishy route they seem to be taking since according to the NHTSA these cars are not legal in any way in the US.

    i think it like this

97%.... people who dont know anything and just think "skylines are cool"

2%.... are those that hate it like buellx1 or like it for proper reasons.

1%.... people who actually have actually owned or driven a skyline.

His isn't legal, which is why it sits in a gym I believe. The first one he had from motorex was someone elses apparently.

O my bad, the car was brought over as a race car or part car, so it can never be legalized I think. The reason why the r33 is still legal is b/c its the only skyline model to go through all the crash and epa testing
