    Default the i hate buying used cars in japan thread

    So it seems that when you talk to people over hte phone the feed you a bunch of bullshit until your readyo to see the car.

    so the jettas not a bad deal, however, now that its gettign closer to me wanting to buy it, he tells me the following.

    well i dont know if its a timing belt (after i told him he had a chain not a belt) but when i turn it on it studders and shuts off. its been sitting for3 months so it COULD be bad gas, but also it COULD be somethign far worse, and im not wanting to take the chance for the first car im going to get

    2 down....more to go

    but i have a dealership off base goign to 4 auctions this weekend to find a sil80, silvia, or 180sx....we will see what comes out of it.

    decent cars are a dime a dozen at home, now that im in japan, its hard to find one with like 5 times the US population in a place hte size of california...its rediculous
