    i wouldnt say unnecessary but i would definitely say not necessary.

    The prefix Un means not or the absense. As in the the absense of necessity.

    and thats exactly why i put it like "that". It's a given that modifying a car is not necessary but we do it anyways. And it should go without saying that joining a car club is not necessary but some people do it anyways for your own personal reasons, probably mainly because you like it and there's nothing wrong with that. We all have our own opinions on what we wanna do with our car and in life as a whole. Now some just feel that they should endeavor on their own but still
    socialize with other people on the same path to "finished car nirvana".
