Watching it right now. The Oprah interview was damn good, and he made the media look damn stupid for their assumptions and I loved that part, LIRL. His reasons for walking were really understandable when he explained it.

He exaplined it at the Grammys too. I couldnt take my eyes off. All the rumors, etc.. he shut them down and told everyone exactly what happened.

damn. you must hate his ass. i can see where hes coming from, that would be a lot of pressure. even though he dipped out, comedy central still made hella $$$ from his standup and re running his shows. they still stand to make tons of cash im sure. he's probably one of the best things that ever happened to that network.

Well since you didn't watch them I'll post some JustinSane Notes on what he said.
1. Shit was all cool 1st and 2nd season
2. Chappelle signs $50mil contract
3. Everyone around him tries to control what he did and take credit to get into his pockets
4. Things on the set of the show got progressively more awkward
5. He walked from the show, and the money (so the 50mil wasn't really an issue)
6. Went to Africa to get away from it and clear his head
7. Oprah interview: He agrees to finish off the tapings of the show as long as they agree to let him have creative control back and his portion of the DVD sales can go back to people/charities etc.
8. The media tried to fuck him up but the man has made some damn good points.
I gotta say as a disclaimer, I know I have Chappelle sig and avatar, but I'm being totally unbiased about this thing, lol.

Apparently he did, but they tried to claim he was being paranoid (he said that on the Oprah interview), so I guess actions speak louder than words.

Thats perfectly fine, but I can understand his situation 100% because I've been there and still am sometimes. Come into some money and it can change you but in a lot of cases it changes everybody around you 10x as much, happens to me with my own (non-immediate) family sometimes.
if you look at other celebrities, i'd say dave chapelle's whining is minimal compared to most. he didnt even whine, he just left. and he's explaining why.
