    i don't think they did an S tune...they did one episode that featured the rx-8 and a standard 350z and they were shocked to see they posted the same times.

    oh yeah im not surprised. like anything in that class, i mean..s2000/350z just over own the RX8 in anything with straight lines, on a track like the one ive seen the stig get it on in, the RX8 would be lethal, and would shine with its superior gearing for that kind of course over the s2k/350z

    the honda NSX-R got cheated because it was raining like cats and dogs...they said we should take at least 5 seconds off for that!

    For the RX-8 to match the M3 is sick. I couldn't believe it. I could only imagine if it was packing some serious power.

    when the track tests first began, the dry track was soaked to make up for

    the times it rained. This was cancelled latter.

    The racecars they tested did even better.

    Renault R24 F1.........59 seconds
    Aston Martin DB9......1.08 seconds

    What about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution FQ400 with a time of 1:24? Does it not count? It is a factory production car.

    If you watch the video of the guy driving it for that time, he did a horrible job. He made some costly mistakes going in and coming out of some of the turns.
