I didnt read all the posts, but this shit doesnt make sense. I mean why would someone just grab his laptop and not the other stuff. Like they are someone he/she knows, and they knew he had a laptop and broke in just to get it, and actually werent real thiefs, so got scared right after that and bolted?

yeah, and thats the shitty part about it that it was probably someone that knows me or knows of me. brand new mb quart premiums, still in the box. my fuji camera. gobs of cd's. it was all in there and in more plain view than the laptop. why did they only take the laptop? granted, i'm glad thats ALL they took, but honestly, i just dont get it. also why didnt my alarm go off? it goes off when i beat on the windshield, why doesnt it go off when a window is shattered? oh well. the new window goes in tomorrow because it has to be shipped to the body shop. then i gotta go get it re-tinted. now i gotta go change all my passwords just in case, by some freak accident, they figure out my password to the windows log in. damn them. if i find out who it was, they're gonna wish they weren't born with arms.
well i dun kno if this is a issue, but i know with my alarm( thor 2 way paging alarm), its more sensitive in some areas ( mainly the front and interior of my car) then others...like i would hit on my wing and back panel window and depending on how hard its hit, it would go off

well as for the alarm not going off, there are ways to bust a window without setting off an alarm. Experienced theives use a spring loaded center-punch. Such as this:
And you can even throw a small pebble hard enough to shatter a window, and not cause any shock to set off an alarm.
Only thing to give you a lot of coverage is proximety (sp?) sensors. That way if any one walks around the car or gets close to it it will begin a countdown to go off.
