Interesting... you can set the car to either a 4cylinder, 6 cylinder or 8...
Cool or not ?

Ehh thats cool I guess. I would leave it on 8 though. Even cruising I dont want to flip it back and forth.
damn didnt no that
if i was crusin id have it on 4
but if im tring to speed ill put on 8 dont think id use 6 that much!
The 300C can do the same. The v8 impala i heard gets really bad gas mileage..
2008 Pontiac G8 GT (Not your Daddys 4 door)
2006 CBR F4i - (Sold)
2007 Lexus IS - (Sold)
2006 MazdaSpeed 6 - (Sold)
Most recent cars list is too long
just another thing that can break.
but it would be cool to be able to go down to 4 cylinders on the highway to save gas.
i would drive the 2 cars in the background in the 2nd pic but this new impalla dont look good to me!
from what i understand of it it's nothing you can just switch on your own... it's a built in feature and controlled by the ECM.
i think it's kind of stupid, it says that it just closes off the valves completely to shut down the cylinders; but that would mean that the engine is working really hard against pumping the closed cylinders up and down. maybe i'm just reading it wrong but wouldn't it be better to shut down fuel supply/spark to those cylinders and have the exhaust valve open still on the "exhaust" stroke of those cylinders to eliminate some of the pumping losses and further improve mileage?

I want a 96 SS with a big blower.
yeah the new one is ugly. all the chevy's are looking generic other than the corvette n trucks.
I'll take the black 64 in the back... oh wait, thats MY FUCKIN CAR!!!
ok so I'll "settle" for the 96, big ass Ligenfelter blower, and thats a wrap..
the new ones are complete garbage, a disgrace by any standard. kinda depressing, if you ask me
in the early 80's cadillac tryed something like this and it failed.if you take a walk through pull a part you will see quite a few of these old caddys with the 4,6,8 set up. i hope GM got it right this time.
yes i am....

If you want to compare the newer Impalas, I mean, its like comparing two different piles of shit.
yea, one might be more firm then the other, or it may be more tightly coiled, but at the end of the day.... well I wouldn't wanna step in one.
