I saved a dog's life last week....

I was walking down the highway by my house, crossing the bridge over the river that I live on, when I looked over the side and saw a dog stranded in the middle of it. Less than a year old, this black lab was. After three hours and and one time falling back in from halfway up, we got the dog out. The water was near freezing temps and it rained and sleeted that night and froze. The dog, Animal Control said, would not have made it. I'm glad I was out that day to see her.

Maybe I should have just thrown sticks or rocks at the dog so that it would fall into the river and be swept over the falls just downriver. That would have been really cool and funny. Later, QD.

The whole time I was there, before anyone else arrived, the dog just laid in that same spot. When AC got there, we tossed down some food and she still didn't budge. Finally, she got up and went to the food. We were then able to get her to step through the noose and pull it tight behind her front legs. Later, QD.
