Default NEED A TEST CAR ASAP 1.8l VTEC

I have to do some header testing, and i need a test mule cause my ITR EG is swamped at work and has not time. heres the rules:

MUST BE A 1.8L VTEC engine (preferably GSR/ITR)
-LSVTEC IS OK, but i will be revving it out, so if its a stock LS BLOCK , it may not be the best thing.

Built motors are OK. however, i would like a car that has been dynoed already. IE i dont have to spend 1-2 hours tuning a fresh built motor etc before i do my testing.

NO AC AND NO PS is a PLUS. gives me more room to swap the headers.

I ASSUME NO LIABILITY, you will have to sign the standard waiver that we do on all dyno of vehicles. so make sure you have a healthy engine.

    Redline will be around 8500RPMs

I will be testing the new K1 header vs the RMF narrow.

test time will take 2-3 hours.

Dynoing will be FREE for the test car.

let me know asap. if someone can do it tongiht, i might be able to squeeze it in

unfortunantly yes ...but i've taken my DC 4to1 on & off several times without a problem, the power steering isn't a problem but have to unbolt the a/c compressor and tie it out of the way...got an SMS at home i'd love to replace the DC with anyways.

Well, the design of these headers is a bit different than the JDM DC header. you might want to take that AC off, or we will ahve to do it before hand. let me call my tuner

    are you talking to me?

I cant give ANYTHING away for FREE, i had to pay for these headers. Im willing to give the Test subject FREE dyno time. Ill do a baseline pull and he can walk away with Dyno numbers, we normally charge $50 to strp it down.

Plus, ill give you $50 off a K1 header if the guy wants to buy one. If he doesnt, then thats fine.

Ill also show you what your car can do with a $700 header on it. Most people have to BUY the header BEFORE they see results. Im offering TEST before you buy it.

He can't give away a $700 dollar header, like he said. Besides, the test subject is getting FREE dyno runs, which do cost money.

Besides, i'm pretty sure the test subject has brought his car to redline plenty of times. And it's a Honda, i'm pretty sure it can handle it

I just have to say that for liability reasons.

Honestly, ANYONE that dynos signs a waiver. Ask any shop with a dyno, you must sign a damage waiver before its strapped down. when your tuning a n revving a car out, sometimes shit happens. ive only had 1 car blow up on our dyno, and it was cause a valve broke, freak accident, but tahts it.

Apex, wtf???? You obviously have no idea what the hell you are talking about and how much a test like this can benefit all members of this board and others who are thinking about making a purchase of an expensive/high performance header. This service that Mike is doing is for knowledge and information for those of us who actually care about making more power from a Honda the way God intended, all motor. I think the fact that Vteckidd and Mainstream Performance are willing to use their shop, their time, their dyno, and pay their tuner to do a test that we as Honda performance junkies can benefit from is awesome. I only wish that he had put a call out to a B16 to test this on and I would have made the 2 hour drive to his shop last night after I got off work at 7:00 PM to do it. We are going to be testing the K1 header on my b16 to see what it will do against the JDM DC header that I currently run. This is invaluable information to see a true unbiased test done by a neutral third party solely for the benefit of gaining knowledge and information. So much of what we see in magazines and from companies in their marketing is driven by money and what they can gain. Header tests in magazines are done as advertisements for the companies that pay big $$$ to advertise in those magazines. You actually think that they would say something negative about a paying advertiser? The last time I checked Mainstream Performance is not compensated by any company that they test a header from. A++++ to Mainstream and Vteckidd for not just perpetuating internet rumors and heresay and actually basing an opinion on facts and empirical evidence that can be proven on the dyno.

Great points...I'm not even in the market for a header (I have a $1,000 SMS sitting at home) and don't need another one yet I still want to do this...!

My car see's 8+k RPM's everyday...it's no big deal and i don't see it as a risk at all... Sucks because header installation can be a pain sometimes with the compressor still on, i don't have an O2 bung, and really need to tune my V-AFC and smooth out the fuel curve a little.

Your shit won't hit five thousand RPM's much less 9k plus, whatchutalkin bout?! Low blow, I know, sorry I had to. lol. He wants to test it on a B16 with a little more than your average I/E mods. See what it'll do on a slightly built b16, he already showed the dyno on a stock b16.
