Took longer than expected. It was a bit more than just a background change and there weren't as many hands as needed.
Also had to add that groovy auto-text when you create a thread that says
"wahhh wahhh wahhh, dont say anything that might offend any thin skinned pussies who came into a section of forum where they should have already weighed the relatively high odds of being offended"
I like the clean and tiled look, but I prefer the dark background it used to be.
There are a lot of things that you can't see running in the background, and several features that are not ready to be turned on yet. The core structure was changed. It wasn't just a presentation layer change.

In case you haven't already noticed, this was a core change to v.4.2.1. You might not have noticed, but the performance in page rendering is definitely faster.
The most important functionality change IMO is the security and spam control. If you think back, we were constantly getting hit by spammers posting, and that has definitely been reduced a lot. More importantly, we were getting hit with hack attacks that actually succeeded in getting a malicious script on the server, and attacked the file structure. All of that has been addressed. Not something that you see when you look at the page, but something that definitely makes a huge impact.
Additionally, inclusion of FB albums, event calendars, etc., are being rolled into the site, as time and testing allows. Randomguy controls the schedule obviously, and he has a full time job, so it has to fit into spare time.
