We used to put canoes in Sweetwater and float to the hooch and then down to either 92 or 166 depending on the time of day we started. We never actually swam in it, usually drinkin beer and plinkin shit with a little .22 .

Hell go to six flags and see the floating debris containment or stop off i20
We actually took a boat into six flags during the floods in 09, I've got pics standing on the scream machine with flood waters all around.

I am on the 'hooch - I know what it looks like. It's not trashy up here like your photo, and the e.coli reads much lower at Johns Creek than at Paces Ferry - I'm obviously up at Johns Creek.

That area is pretty bad - I've seen it flood over there. Up here, they keep it as close to spotless as they can. We just had two benches installed yesterday down by the river in my neighborhood. Of course, it's pretty expensive to live up here.
Oh yeah - I am in FULTON, not COBB. :-)

It's Night and Day, I would take my son north on river, but never will I take him in this area... Lucky for me we have Sweet Water Creek Park close with lake, so I take him there to fish!

LOL like the run down housing project right in front of the Civic Center? That was a genius idea.

The housing project over by the medical center looks better than most apartment complexes I've seen in the city.

Democrat voter villages. Keep them all in one place and it's less bus trips to deliver them to the polls.

Pretty much every river that runs through a major city has sections of trash floating in it. It's inevitable so it's not like it should be a big deal because a picture is found with some trash in a river. Doesn't mean the river is completely trashy through town. On the contrary, it is more clean than trashy through the city. Just like most rivers running through a city.

Lets all agree that the Chattahoochee River is a whole lot cleaner than the Hudson River.
