Until they get a battery that can make 300 miles on a single charge, and a way to quickly change the battery out (as fast as pumping in a tank of gas), full electrics just aren't any competition for the combustion engine. Right now, if you want to drive your car, you should be able to do 300 miles at least, and then refuel and keep going. You can't do that with an electric.

I agree, but I dont think you need 300. I think 100-150 is plenty. Either way, if you own one of these you are pretty much required to own a second vehicle because of the size limitations. As long as you can get back and forth to work and do your running around with a single charge they will have their place if they can get the price down to something reasonable.
Oh, and you are pretty much required to own a house with a garage so you have a secure place to charge it thats out of the elements.

chevy volt was a monumental failure. That technology is just not good enough to be relevant to people. Costs too much, doesn't go far enough on a charge, takes too long to charge, not to mention how long those batteries will last and cost of ownership of such a vehicle over the course of having it say...for 100K miles.
Im glad I wasnt in Russia for that meteorite though, it's a horrible tragedy for those who got affected by it. Damn Obama.
Most people I directly spoke to about them, owned one, or were looking to buy were quite excited and fans of the Volt, so it does appeal to SOME people.
The meteor was sent by Obama, only one man has the power of the universe and that's Obama.
I actually have on my Obama shirt today.
I attended Freaknik in '96. Not sure how that information is relevant to this thread, but I did.
