Luda has a lot of good stuff, but he also has a lot of garbage. He can make great music if he sets his mind to it, but that isnt often.

No one likes TI? Guess he's considered more Hip-Hop.

and exactly alex, Luda's a strong rapper, just does a lot of poppy tracks that help keep him from being taken serious in the rap genre, imo. But he's very fluid, gotta admit.

I will be the first to admit it, that I have not heard much of the earlier classic rap. I honestly came into this thread to see the names of other rapers to look up and listen to their music, but I still believe that Eminem is an insane lyricist.

okay, to all you Em lovers, where would you say is the mecca of rap?? Detroit or New York??? New York, right??? okay. If you ever been to the city of New York, im not talking tourist, but to the streets of the Bronx, to the projects and basketball courts there, you will see and hear people that literally eat, sleep, rap; day in and day out, all they do is perfect their lyrics, and im not talking about rap like poeple here in ATL, i have heard them when i used to live in Dekalb county and that's not rap, people from New York, i can honestly say, KNOW rap, go tell them that Em is the best rapper of all time and they will laugh in your face, you may even get slapped. You have to listen to all the underground freestylers up there, Em is not even on the same level, and most of the people that dont understand Jay-Z is because you have to think about his lyrics, you dont just listen to it, i did not like him at first, but when i started getting his style, that's when i became a real fan.

If i had to say who is the best one alive, i would say Jay-Z, he has been around long enough, and he has the money and record sales to prove it, Em has not even been out long enough to be even called the best rapper, but then again most people that are posting on here DONT really know rap, you know more rock/alternative than you do rap, so..........to you Em is the best, go you!, just dont say that around some black people that listen to nothing but rap

So, let me get this straight..... people from NY know more about rap than people from Atlanta because people from NY like rappers from NY more than rappers from Atlanta? i guess that makes sense, aside from not making sense.

Jayz has been around long enough to be considered the best ever, but Eminem hasnt? Can we put Eminem in the argument next year then? because Jayz put out his first album 1 year before Eminem put out his first album.

Maybe in the next life i will be born black so i can fully understand rap music, personally... i cant see how the color of my skin changes my understanding of the english language or music, but i'll take your word for it and give you the benefit of the doubt that you have no racial bias, even though nearly everything that you post would lead me to that conclusion.

i cant for the life of me understand why people from NY have a bias towards Jayz.... oh wait, yes i can. I bet if you went to Yankee stadium and told everyone the Boston Redsox were the best baseball team ever they might disagree with you.

Wonder what would happen if all of these amazing undiscovered NY street rappers had the chance to tell Eminem he sucked to his face..... here's my best guess.

"scientific" explanation why Eminem is the best rapper ever. Hey Franco, maybe the depth of Em's lyrics are going over your head. Try listening with a dictionary in hand or playing them in slow motion. Also, with a quick google search, you could just read the lyrics at your own pace and give them a little extra time to soak in.

Not claiming to be a rap pro, just pointing out obvious deficiencies in your comments. You say "dont say Em is the best around black people that know rap" i post videos of black people who rap, who are also regarded as some of the best rappers.... saying Em is the best rapper. You say people like me dont like Jayz because his lyrics go over my head, so i post a scientific breakdown of how Em's lyrics are more complex than "jigga man". You say Eminem isnt old enough but Jayz is, i point out that they started at nearly the same time. I broke down every comment you made piece by piece.

No need to PM me, i would prefer for people to be able to share in the "wisdom" you would like to pass on to me.

While I agree that Jay-Z is an amazing lyricist, I just dont feel like his lyrics compete with eminem's. Also, you made no valid points franco and your theory on knowing rap and new york being the mecca of rap is absolutely retarded. Do research on eminem's freestyles before blabbering on about how he is basically in the minor leagues when it comes to freestyles.

    Also, ill leave this here

Although Jay Z didnt put out an album since 95/96.. He was rapping w/ JazO, LL Cool J like in 88/89.. You can find some of those early songs... Why JayZ didnt realease before hand.. I dont know...but I can remember Jay Z from those years...
