I won't really being involved in anything new as I've been trucking for a while now. The only thing different is that I will be doing it in my own truck now.

    And the money.

I guess the new will come in operating my truck where before I could just drive it knowing the company would fix it.

I appreciate your words, though, my friend.

good luck paying for gas. also wasn't there talk on a mileage tax. seems stupid considering thats how truckers make money, which then rolls over to higher prices on everything. pretty sure it was just drunken talk but you never know

I'm no idiot, dude. I've been in the trucking thing for a little while so I've done my research. I wouldn't jump into something this big without thinking I could do it.

didn't mean to offend. BTW so have I and I personally think it is way to high. even with fuel express I am spending crazy dollars to fill up 2 tanks. 300 gallons hits the wallet pretty hard

My running the numbers have me spending not too much in fuel. Not for what I do. Plus I get a good fuel surcharge.

I'm picking up my truck this coming week. It's already set for me to get it. Plus, I don't want a sleeper truck. Don't want or need it, lolol. The truck I'm picking up is a 2009 Columbia and if I were to have my choice of truck, it would NOT be a Freightliner. I hate those trucks.

I'm on the verge of a pretty big promotion myself. It will nearly double my salary and i will get a company car with gas card. Being 22 going up against people in their 40's - 50's for the same job is pretty nerve racking.

I understand that completely, I'm 20 going against guys that are 40-50. They know A LOT more than I do, so i'm trying to learn and keep up at the same time.

my dad drives a new volvo and he used to drive a new Freightliner, he said the difference is night and day.
He said the century classic is much cheaper, cheaper to maintain, but he just like the volvo a lot more.
stronger, quieter, and a nicer ride. But it's a bitch when it comes to stupid part, much more expensive.
Congrats on your truck, i hope you like it.
