Default Looking for magazine feature cars....

Just wanted to remind IA that I am always looking for high quality builds to feature in a handful of national magazines. Cars must be highly, yet tastefully modified in all aspects of the build: drivetrain, interior, exterior, suspension and brakes. Most publications look down on replica parts such as Rota Wheels and Bride Seats from Canada. This does not mean cars with non super crazy baller parts won't be considered, they have no issues with Enkei Wheels or BC Racing coilovers. I am looking for almost all types of cars for different magazines, but please do not waste my time. Go online and look at the level of cars that are featured in Honda Tuning, Super Street, 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords, ect...and honestly ask yourself if your car is on the same level. I'm not here to be judgmental on your car, but my editors are picky when it comes to the cars they decide to feature. I'm looking for:

    Honda's
Japanese cars such as RX7, 350Z, STI, AE86, ect...
    Mustangs
    LSx powered vehicles

Cars that are different, crazy swaps, a lot of power, time attack style builds(for imports) are always a plus.

In order to pitch the car to my editor I will need a handful of basic exterior, interior and engine bay photos and a FULL mod list with dyno numbers. Expect me to ask for this stuff.

Pm me or email me the mod list and pics to: [email protected]

EDIT: Ok I have to make this a little more clear for some people: if you have stock seats in a 98 Civic your car is not feature worthy, if you have a bolt-on Evo making 350whp your car is not feature worthy, if you have a Mustang on FR500 wheels your car is not feature worthy. If you think for a second you might be wasting my time then go to import tuner, honda tuning, 5.0 mustangs, ect... website and JUST LOOK AT THE CARS THEY FEATURE. Use common sense PLEASE, if your car is no where near that level don't contact me about a feature.

Lets try, I'm not promising anything, and it most likely won't happen LOL but I want to try with your car because I think it really deserves it.

Email me FULL mod list and pics

You've pretty much missed the boat on this idea on IA, Chad. This should have been posted about 7-8 years ago. Later, QD.

Oh I know lol finding feature cars in Atlanta is really hard the past couple years. Instead of building cars with proper parts people just buy cheap coilovers, XXR wheels and slam their cars in hopes of 5 minutes of fame

I know of a really sick RHD 1971 VW Bug. Yes, a German made VW that was RHD and was sent here from Japan. Interested?

There are some nice cars Ill see here and there around metro atlanta, but those owners arent on here that I know of. The car scene sucks here in atlanta. lol Lots of quantity but not much quality.

S3 is the only publication that would consider a work in progress, and I do not shoot for them. When the build is completed hit me up.

Did you rebuild it since you got it? They tend to prefer built from stock or mostly stock or completely redone builds. Shoot me a PM with some info on what was done to the car when it got in your hands and what you have done since then.

Can't really think of anything off the top of my head that's worthy. There are some nice cars but the quality of the build is sub-par.

what part about his politely worded "dont want to take pictures of bullshit" thread do you not understand? How would you interpret anything said in that post to imply any interest what so ever in taking pictures of a work in progress 240sx????? with the 12349568390248590234869038690382496823496890234869 03286 240sxs available, what about your work in progress is interesting enough to merit the attention of a magazine or professional photographer? 2jz??? oh wow... never seen one of those...... stanced??? wow.. you drive that unicorn on the street????? kouiki???? got the Mona Lisa in your driveway eh???

Seriously....... I'm insulted for Chad that you would ask this question.

Yeah that is the issue, there is a major difference between a very nice car and a feature worthy car.

ROFL!!!! I try to be nice

Like I said S3 tends to run cars that have "character" but not the publications I shoot for.

i like your car...... i would drive it and be thrilled with it, but nothing about it is magazine quality. You may be offended by that.... but you already know what im telling you is true. My 240 looked like this and i wouldnt have expected to put in a magazine. As cool as your car is... as cool as 240s are..... you're a needle.... in a dump truck load of needles.

Oh I know man, I am not offended it needs soooo much more work. It is actually my GFs car and she has built it from the ground up. It is getting a full make over, built NA-T 2JZ, paint, kit, deeper wheels, trunk lip, roof wing, etc...u know what all goes into building a badass drift car lol. I just didnt know if he wanted to do a article of a unique build (since no one does NA 2jz s14s) but i guess not, which i understand

This is true, 240's are not very easy to get featured. They need insanely baller builds with all the best parts, massive brakes, HRE's(or other high end wheels), big money interior pieces, RB26/2JZGTE/VQ35/VK56 swap, ect....

In the southeast, I'm willing to drive if the owner of the car is willing to meet me half way.

Good luck with your search. I cant think of any Mustangs off the top of my head. Maybe hit up Mo's Speed Shop or Kurgan Motorsports. They usually have a few nicely build cars sitting in their shops. I think Marty's(Mo's Speed Shop Owner) 1992 convertible fox with a 4v swap is up and running. I bet that will be feature worthy when its 100% finished

Link to his build and pictures below.

I do my best to stay in touch with Marty, I know he is building a Mystachrome Terminator Vert right now that I think is going to be feature worthy. I have heard about that fox vert though.....that is a good prospect as well.

Simple and clean is good but it also has to have a large list of high end parts.

Sponsors? LOL nah people build cars with high end parts all the time using their own money.
