Carrying cash on a daily basis is an unnecessary risk. Keeping $2 worth of quarters in your pocket to give to your kid for a gumball is not what i define as "carrying cash". If i arrange for someone who only accepts cash payment to do an odd job at my house or if im purchasing a part from an individual, i stop at an ATM in route to meeting them. This way im reducing the amount of time that im carrying cash and the various risks with it. Cash can be destroyed or stolen, card cant. I can drop cash in water, fire, have it stolen, lose it, tear or rip it, leave it in the washing machine or drier, hit it with a lawn mower, forget about it, miscount it ect ect ect.... none of these things can happen to a credit card. A wad of cash has no security features.
