id press charges. even though it's small.... theft is theft and getting away with small theft could lead to larger theft. I worked at a bar before and had complaints of things like this. After investigating the claims, we found that waitresses were altering the tip amounts but they were doing it in ridiculous amounts. If someone left a $5 tip they would mark a 1 in front of it and make it $15... even had a couple that changed $5 to $50 and one case where they even changed it from $10 to $100 and had a person's account over drawn.
The comment above about not carrying cash is one of the dumbest things ive ever seen in my life. Unless you're a construction worker........... almost every job deposits your money into your account. If i spend cash i cant track my purchases... using a card, i can see every penny spent. If i lose my wallet with $500 cash in it, i just lost $500... if i lose my wallet with my card in it, all of my funds can be returned and tracked if stolen. I can buy something with my card over the phone or internet. Even emergency service like a tow truck can accept card payments. For using a card, i receive rewards and benefits that i dont for spending cash. There's very little reason to carry cash unless you need some for a vending machine or something or are buying drugs.
