It is pretty crazy to sit back and think we're on this comparatively tiny ball floating through a seemingly infinite space, it's hard to wrap your mind around that.
We are but a grain of sand in the middle of a desert.
And people believe there is no other intelligent life forms out there...
If the other forms of "intelligence" out there are behaving as badly as a lot of these "intelligent" humans, then we don't need to know that they exist, or don't exist. We have enough problems here already.

Really cool link, thanks for sharing. It blows my mind to think about the scale of the universe. An interesting tidbit I heard on one of those universe shows on the Science channel: If Betelgeuse (one of the largest known stars) replaced the sun in our solar system, it's surface would reach Jupiter.

im really into astronomy and the cosmos..ive been staring at the skies since the age of 7!
at the end, i wonder how they "estimate the size of the universe" the grey area they cant see but know how to estimate the size of. how?? what makes it ever stop?

It doesnt stop, its just something they havent explored yet, so they assume that's that, best theory for it.
Everyone knows the universe is a flat surface, just like the Earth.
It has to end somewhere... Duh.
I was referring to the gray area... that it does not stop there....

It's a theory.
But if you really know that it stops there and that's it, and you have definite proof for it, sir, you are one rich man.
And NASA supports my theory: "We now know that the universe is flat with only a 0.5% margin of error. This suggests that the Universe is infinite in extent; however, since the Universe has a finite age, we can only observe a finite volume of the Universe. All we can truly conclude is that the Universe is much larger than the volume we can directly observe."
It doesn't matter if the universe is finite or infinite, if you cannot observe the end. People argue it all the time, but in reality, we cannot observe the end, so it really doesn't matter.
