my cousin actually had a problem witht his last year and he too checked himself into an out-patient rehab and got put on some pain meds and he has been doing great ever since. he just hates whenever people are like hey man wanna come have a drink this weekend because he knows that if he takes one drink it will light his fire again and he wont be able to control it. good luck man! i know its a battle but you can conquer it.

That's the way to go. It's what my mom did and it worked, still sober 7 years to this day. You can do it if you really want to, all it takes is the will.
