Why would they video tape this and put it on the internet? It's like "please arrest me for assault".
Dude who spray painted was an ignorant moron. I know he's probably got some sort of PTSD, but if you're going to do that kind of shit why would you pick an import car that for all you know is being driven by an American?
Did he deserve his ass kicked like that? Assuming he didn't instigate or try to run away I would say no. But then again words can't describe how pissed off I'd be if someone did that to my car. I guess it would really all depend for me on how he acted during the situation. I can't imagine the dude would even be able to pay for the damages.
I'd say he deserved it. The video only shows the aftermath and his demeanor AFTER the fight.
For all we know he was buck wild when being confronted about this, equally to blame for the physical altercation.
A question to you, would it change your mind, if the guy got physical first (whether bluffing or not) when confronted? Then got his ass beat and the video starts when his tail is already between his legs.
if someone did that to my evo i would have done the same thing i would go to jail over it i know, but dont mess with my evo, it hurts my feelings seeing that on a beautiful car like that
the veteran part, the other stuff is irrelevant.
he got his ass beat for vandalizing someone elses property.
he deserved it

A question for me? If so, I did say the following in my first post:
"Did he deserve his ass kicked like that? Assuming he didn't instigate or try to run away I would say no."
Meaning if he did instigate or try to run then he deserved the ass kicking. None the less, videotaping themselves shit talking the dude afterwards was completely over the top and unnecessary no matter what lead up to the beatdown.
Knowing me, I would have done the same thing. Is it right? No...But when people sink thousands of dollars into these cars they take pride in them, so I can only imagine the emotions going through the evo owners body and mind when seeing it. I know I don't just have money to have my project cars done as soon as I decide where they're going, takes time and money(lots of both). People are killed for less than this in this country, guy was lucky in my opinion.....still doesn't make it "right" though.

funny how the article quickly came to the defense of the guy who vandalized a car. he deserved the ass beating.
His punishment seemed reasonable but it should have been left at that, I'm not so sure that they should have called the cops.

I mean doing both is stupid, because legally they had no right to hit him unless he was a threat to them (I know we don't know the whole story on this....). Therefore calling the cops is going to get them arrested for battery, maybe even assault.
Legally and level headed, you take pics and get his tag number....call the police, and use your comprehensive insurance to pay for the repairs.

Real men deal with people face to face and not their property. Dude would be shot, hacked into 44 pieces, and tossed over various bridges in Coweta, Pike, and Merriwether counties as carp food if that were my car.
The ass beating was fully justified, whether or not it was legal is debatable. The taunting afterwards, it may get them in trouble as the vet would be able to claim he gave up without a fight and they attacked him anyways. The video even proves that.
i feel sorry for the vet but he shouldn't have done that.. the owner of the evo he should of just called the cops..
