And these people "lining" up to get home? yeah, that was the case at first....but right now, it's free and clear....everyone is allowed to go home now to start with the rebuilding process with the exception of ONE parish, simply because it's 99% destroyed and it's been deemed too far below sea level than the rest of the parishes, this particular parish is also pretty much all low income housing, and it probably houses maybe 10-20,000 at most, you have thousands if not more staying at hotels on the govt's dollar and they have the okay to head home to start with the rebuild....what's stopping them? Money? doubtful, because FEMA issued out those $2000 debit cards, Red Cross handed out those debit cards ranging from $500-$1500. Plus, insurance companies have already swept thru the area issuing checks as well. There is no fucking reason to be in those hotels....I saw families setting up tents outside their homes to sleep...they didnt go to any hotels......why? because they wanted to get shit cleaned up and rebuilt.

You are a moron if you seriously think people who are staying at these hotels are begging to go home and some almighty hand is holding them back....yeah, the hand that is holding them back is the hand that feeds them....

AAAAAHHAHAHA free and clear my ass.. NO isnt back up and runnin yet, you still cant go into baout 80% of the city. I dont know where u are gettin your info.

Youc ant doo that much with 2000$ get real this is the real wqorld, hell ive spent taht much in a month.

just b//c your family got back on the right path dont mean everyone can, i see youve got soem sort of tunnel vision. Elbow grease cleaned up? i hope that was a joke..most of those homes are destroyed, im sure if they just fly back and get soem 409 and a mop and a bucket it will be all back to normal...WOW tlak about joke of the day.

I mean i guess yoru right, go ahead and just categorize the bad peoeple doing the wrong thing and taking advantage of this whole situtation and just say that everyone that hasnt got back straight yet after 2 month are lazy fools...and deserve to live on the street. IT seems to be the right thing to do, and go ahead and assume that everyones not doign anything.

I for one know first hand that thousands and thousands of peeps cant go back yet....my own family hasnt been allowed back to even pick up anything that can maybe be salvaged. And besides them looking for a house and getting there kids back in school and getting back on there feet.

Fema gave debt cards - Red cross gave housing and food - Insurance companies took care of the all salvage claims for vehicles - house all that. IF you were insured for flood damage. And they helped find ppl new homes and whatever they go. You all act like its hurting you to see them get a bit more time... I mean if they wanted to give 911 victims more money noone would have a problem.

what gives anyoen the right to tell when someones trying... you dont know there situation what they are doign, and what they are going thru. You could either try to find a solution to help and make it better for both sides, or you could just make it worse by critizing and makin ignorant assumptions..
