I spend about 2000 a year on gas and I daily my stang. Its not stock and runs pretty well and sees some spirited driving in every tank. I still get low 20's mpg. I dont know what kinda v8's you think we drive......We dont drive a 76 Buick Electra station wagon.....I drive a 2004 mach 1. I had a 4 banger..a few actually...and they ran low 12's and a few had no a/c, none had leather power seats, or power windows or really any luxury. I basically had a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff in a $500 shell......but hey.....I got 30mpg! Fuck that I would rather get 20 mpg and have a nice car that does not suck because whether you wanna admit it or not your turbo Honda sucks...even if it runs 12's and gets 30 mpg. Ive been there and done that many times and thought it was the best thing ever...then I bought mustang and with bolt ons I run 12's on shitty hard aqua treads with a 3600+lb race weight.

Power to weight, 30mpg, reliability...blah blah blah...you can have it...for over 2 years I have beat on my car and it always performs. I have changed the oil and put gas in it....and enjoyed ice cold a/c, and no funny smells because its not a 15-20 year old shit box and lets exhaust fumes in. Im not onn to hate on other brands of cars usually but this is one of those rare times when I will. I like all cars...if it can be made fast I like it and I respect a fast import...but to be so ignorant as to think that all v8's are the same as there ancient gas guzzling carburated ancestors is fucking retarded..get with the times man. its 2011 now..v8's get 20-30mpg and are as reliable as any honda on the road.
