pleading nolo contendere has nothing to do whether you know the law or not....When you sign your drivers license you are stating that you will abide by all laws on the road.

Hardly any judges let you plead nolo anymore as you basically are admitting guilt....You pretty much say, "I didn't do it, but ill never do it again." Nolo contendere is usually only used in criminal trials where a civil trial may begin after the criminal trial.
