Ha, don't even get me started about getting a police report. Almost the same thing happened to me in a parking lot. I go inside to pick up a couple things, not in there more than 10 minutes, and come out to notice my passenger side mirror crushed. Thinking, damn.. atleast they didn't mess up anything else on the car, I drive home to remove the busted mirror to only really inspect to see glass chunks inside my paint on the passenger side door. Yeah, whoever hit it must have been either in a hurry backing up or flat out were hauling ass in the parking lot and got super lucky not hitting the car itself. Well, I go back to the shopping center (That same day not more than a hour after) to see if maybe I could get someone to pull up some video footage... and guess what, Not one tape in that parking lot caught anything! I always park somewhat away from everyone in fear of the famous door dings. But still closer to the building than away. Anyways, fed up with the shopping center.. I call the police and have them send over a patrol car. Did a report, and he said I could call the number on a card he gave me with the case number in a few days. The next week, I call to only hear them tell me what I knew they would. Nothing can be done. So much for the Macon Police Department. They're maybe a few good cops out there, but about 80% of them are worthless! I mean, yes I know they can't just be super humans and just know who did it. But, why come.. have me fill out a long statement and ask several questions if you already know nothing can be done with out video or witnesses? Just tell me and I'll go on about my business.
