What you need to do is go and buy some of those small electric heaters and don't turn on your gas. That is what I am doing. My heat in my house is gas and with the prices going up 50% and money already being tight - i was like fuck that. I bought this tiny electric heater from Fry's for $15 - heats up the whole upstairs. I have my heat turned off and it is about 72 in my upstairs and downstairs from these heaters. They work great and for $15 that is a deal. In fact, I got one for my work too! I got my gas bill for this month and its $17. This is great!
