At first she was fine with not being able to get a refund from me. Then she flipped her lid, when she realized she couldnt return the laptop at Best Buy for 700 bucks with my old reciept (which only was intended to provide proof of purchase and warranty issuance). She saw I had paid less for the laptop than the going rate . And like Ive said before, I truthfully had no intention on "making" money off a "friend". Even if I got the laptop for free, you expect someone to give it away? No, its common sense people. I didnt recall exactly how much I paid for it so I simply did what any normal person would do, hit up amazon or ebay or any other trusted retailer for the best going rate prices for an item.

There's really no reason to bring Chad into this, George.

Either way, I'm done. Y'all have fun

LOL Are you kidding me? Im not painting Chad in a negative light, Im simply saying someone that is involved in the profession and how valuable data is.

Seriously, learn to read deeper into things than face value. Critical Thinking is a college class, consider this when/if you enroll.

All misunderstanding aside, but deleting data is straight fucked up. Knowingly that your actions will cause harm to other is childish and immature.

In this case, its slander not negative feedback b/c the buyer didn't read correctly, or at all, so the title "scammer" she gave the seller is not true. Therefore it is slander, as this affects his future business transactions. The info on the computer is his fault, but everything else is hers. To the buyer if she reads this, next time read more carefully. And as far as companies and salemen "whining about it" yes they do....its called suing for defamation in court.
I understand what you're trying to say, but negative feedback affects a business just as much as slander. And with a prior business transaction it isn't really slander, justified or not. It is a childish opinion maybe, but not slander. Sorry.

    Nemesis,
I don't know you or Adrienne or her bf, most the people I know on this site don't post anymore, but in all honesty, from an unbiased standpoint, I think posting and insulting at all are counter productive. I can understand you being pissed that you tried to be 'professional' and kind but the bottom line is you can't please some people, right or wrong. An example of this is when I worked at my dads car shop, some trailor park couple came in insisting that we sold them bad brakes wanting their money back and we said if they are bad let us change them for free blah blah blah but all they wanted was the money back. Some people just would rather be spiteful, and maybe thats not the case here but its a reality. Now, in all honesty, if I wanted to purchase something from you now, I probably wouldn't. God forbid we have a disagreement and it ends up becoming a drama tv series, its not worth it I'll go pay full price.

You may not care about my opinion and I'm not bashing you at all, I think you have every right to be pissed at the situation, but I think posting and then carrying this on for pages and throwing out insults doesn't prove your innocence but makes me question you. Responding to allegations is one thing, insulting someone for accusing you of something is completely different.

If I am dealing with someone who has some form of negative feedback like shes trying to give you, I'd simply be overly cautious, and if there was something I didn't feel right about, walked away there.

Just my .02, hope your future sales go smoother.

    Of course I own this.

And in all honesty, if you think that I probably wouldnt want you buying anything from me either. I expect buyers to know what they are buying and be educated on the item they want, its not my fault they are ignorant. Since I had no wrong doing in this entire ordeal other than the fact I shouldnt have entrusted a person like her with valuable data.

And sorry, it isnt slander. Since it was a recorded statement its considered libel.

not that i give a fuck or this involves me, but i'm bored and i'll post motherfuckerssss:

    I work in computer sales,

    500 bux would be a fair price for a i3 500gb system...

I think George handled it well, and is justified in making this thread bc seller reputation = $ IRL

twas dumb to give the laptop without backing up data, if it was really worth anything to you, you wouldn't have left it up to a chance that you may not see it again- what if the drive went kaput the next day? or the laptop got stolen?... You risked it, and baaam... your shits gone.... chalk it up to the game.... If you can find who bought it, you can possibly get some data recovery progs to get it... (if it hasn't been too long)
