Because aparently the oil drillings off the US coast are the only ones that dont have cut off valves every so often in the pipes.

Actually it did have one, but it failed for some unknown or unreported reason.

why dont they just stop the flow of oil through the fucking pipe?

Please tell me you arent really this stupid. What do you think they tried to do with the top fill or whatever it is called.



I filled up my car today with BP gas, as they are the only station I really use.


On a side note, has anyone found anything to explain what happened yet? I have been looking around and havent found anything about a cause, just the events that led up to the explosion.
