Which do you think they are most interested it?

Why do you think that they prefer to take robbery reports over the phone now, and don't want to show up to dust for fingerprints when they are obviously there? I had that happen once many years ago. According to the cops, they never could solve it, and did not want the fingerprints left on the scene - and we knew that they were of the criminal. I found the person who broke in 4 days - and it was a random person who I did not know. I am not a detective, so why was I able to do a much better job than those trained and paid to solve these crimes? The reason is simple. I put in reasonable effort, and they were too lazy to do it - it doesn't have any financial gain for the department.
the term "police" isnt defined as someone who pulls over super speeders and broken tag lights and seatbelt violations. They were given the job to protect the community in all kinds of ways. There should be no barrier between what will and wont make them money by policing the public.

Which do you see more often - police ticketing speeders, or rushing to the scene of a crime? They "serve" tickets more than they "protect".

I cant believe you posted that dumb shit. Of course you will see them writing more tickets, because most of the time there has to be a dispatch to a crime.

I agree with this guy? You see more cops writing tickets cause there are more people out there speeding than all the other crimes combined. Not to mention, you never know when a cop is responding to a call unless it is a serious call that requires them to have their lights and sirens on which is about 1 out of every 50 calls. The ignorance in this post is epic. People should make sure they know what they're talking about before they open their mouth.

Well if that's the case fuck the USA.

By the way they did come and "investigate" the "scene" yesterday as I've seen before in other cases.

Have you ever been on a ride-along with a police department? Sounds like you should do one. Maybe you'll get a better understanding of what goes on during an officer's shift and all that they have to do. Just because they are sitting there running laser when you drive by, doesn't mean they've been there for 8 hours.

I kind of agree with Simon

If a cop spent more time patrolling a high crime area and not on the highway pulling people over you may actually be able to catch a crime in progress. You may even be able to keep some people from committing crime in those areas.

The problem with your theory is: the chances a cop catches a crime in progress is one in a million. Cops can't be everywhere at once and think about it. If you were going to rob a bank, are you going to do it with the police car sitting across the street? Criminals aren't the smartest people in the world but they're not retarded. What you guys don't realize is that most serious criminals are caught when they are stopped for a traffic offense such as speeding from the scene of a bank robbery.

Yeah man fuck the cops, because they're the one controlling the street and risking their life every day. And you're the one here bitching about it behind a computer. Yeah man, you're right, FUCK THE POLICE!

I have done more than that, I've had a few letters published in various local newspaper/magazines and plan to continue to bitch until they've had enough. There is a difference in me and someone bitching at a ticket, I've had issues with the police but that's not why I am bitching, I also didn't say ALL COPS suck. You can't truly say that all cops are great and protect us. I bet half wouldn't even consider what they do risky. They don't control the street, they control the flow of traffic.

Some of you are right, tons of ignorance in this thread, and it's not from me. Some of you are blind and have a hard time comprehending what you read. You also must of never really looked around you or became aware of your surroundings.

Right, because reading posts on the internet really gives you a great idea on how someone really is. Moron.

I'm not whining, I don't have any issues, I just want to see cops do work and stop being lazy.

That's cus I mind my own fucking business and I go on my way without being bothered. People who wanna stick their nose in places they don't belong in get treated like crap. After all, these cops are humans just like you and me, some might have high temper while some are easy on stuff. And yes, some cops can be ass holes for no fucking reason, they couldn't succeed in anything else in their life, so they became a police officer. And than there are cops who are really dedicated to their job, and love it. Example of an good cop, and a bad cop: Cop A pulls you over for speeding and gives you a warning, Cop B pulls u over for speeding, and gives you 5 tickets.

As usual you're entirely missing the point. This isn't a thread saying I hate cops they're all stupid I got a speeding ticket and it wasn't my fault. READ ALL OF THE POSTS, START TO END, before replying after just reading the thread title. I hope you're a more intelligent person in real life than you are on here.

    1. I'm pretty sure he never said anything about you being mad about getting a speeding ticket that "wasn't your fault". However, you did admit that you have had your "issues" with the police.

    2. You say this is not a thread saying you hate all cops yet you titled it Fuck Cops. Not Fuck crooked cops, Fuck lazy cops, or even Fuck angry cops. Maybe you should use some of that supposed intelligence you THINK you possess and title your threads better.

    3. Since you want someone who has read all the posts in here to respond, I'll tell you that the jist of what you and the few others in here who say "Fuck Cops" are all saying that you think the Police should be doing something better with their time than working traffic control. You believe Police Officers should spend all their efforts catching serious criminals such as robbers, rapists, and thieves. However, if you had read all the posts in here start to end, like you yell at other people to do, you would have read the post where I explained that catching these criminals in the act is a one in a million opportunity. I went on to explain how most of these serious criminals are caught during a routine traffic stop for such things as speeding. Not all and I would venture to say not most of the police who are out there stopping cars are really out there to write tickets as much as they are to find criminals.

    4. The Officers who are out there just to write speeding tickets and make DUI arrests are doing a service too. Did you and your high level of "intelligence" know that more people are killed in DUI and other traffic related accidents every year than the number of robberies, rapes, and murders combined? Probably not because you are just a pissed off little 22 year old boy who only thinks of himself and of no one else. I wonder what you would be saying if someone in your family had been killed by a drunk driver driving 100 miles per hour through a red light that your loved one happened to be traveling though?

In conclusion, it is you who should grow up a little and think about what you say before you start questioning someone else's intelligence.

I've had issues with cops as in corruption. Luckily good lawyers fixed that for me though.

You also missed where I've said numerous times YOU CAN'T CATCH THEM IN THE
ACT. You act like I don't know cops or have never really looked into what officers do.

You sir are the retard. You know DAMN WELL there are way too many lazy cops out there not doing their job correctly. I've had a few family members seriously injured from a drunk driver, an ex was killed, you know what? I still believe EXACTLY what I'm saying. I pray for those drunk drivers and forgive them, they will get what they deserve.

It doesn't take every cop to save people from a DUI either. Plus if there are so many deaths I guess cops aren't doing too good of a job there either are they cop nut rider?

SOMETIMES the police catch criminals in a traffic stop, HOWEVER, there is no way you can believe that there is a better chance pulling over a criminal than there is parking in a high crime neighborhood and either breaking up some crime or responding to calls faster to ATTEMPT to catch a criminal. I'm sorry but if I'm robbed and the man is on foot, a cop better show up within a few minutes and at least SEARCH, not a few hours later.

I don't get some people like you, you're either blind to the real world, you put too much faith into the police and other government agencies in this country, or you just want to play internet arguing.

I've always held high respect for police offers but that's quickly deteriorating as I see things fall the shit.

Not one valid point. Just wild speculation and uneducated comments.

You're bitching a lot about police response times so I just thought I would tell you that calls for service by police are dispatched based on the importance of the call. Maybe the dispatchers can tell, like the rest of us in here, that you are an insignificant little shit that doesn't deserve police services. So, why don't you go publish some more letters and articles in local newspapers and see where that gets you?

And self-defense courses. That gun is no use if she doesn't know how to use it.

Get off your lazy low life ass and do something for the people. I could care less if a truck passes me speeding. As he's speeding someone is raping a girl or robbing someone at gunpoint. Oh and when you call them they don't come until it's convenient.

Step your game up you ex-hallway patrol officers.
Call me a dick, but I hope you get mugged or assaulted soon. If you think cops aren't doing anything important, then you don't need to call 911 when you need them most.

Big words from such a mature man.

Cops aren't doing anything important, I will call 911 just to chat if I want. Me > All.

Oh I'll even continue on places where I dont live. Specifically in southern states. Like SC and NC and most of GA. Where an officer can be completely unmarked, facing TOWARD traffic with no lights on.

Why unmark a car for traffic enforcement? Why do officers "hide" some seriously hide to and we all know it. But why do they have to hide to enforce the speed law? O wait, I know, to catch u. Speed enforcement can be made by presence. Leave an officer or two along a main route and people will slow. Catch the excessive speeders, but the presence alone will slow many many drivers (CLEARLY FUKIN GA DRIVERS KNOW THIS BECAUSE THEY SLOW DOWN WHEN THEY SEE A COP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY THATS DIVIDED.)

But this hiding crap and using unmarked cars that cannot be seen to get money is ridiculous.

    You got that right.

OH LOOK A COP, LETS ALL SLAM ON OUR BRAKES AND CAUSE A WRECK.

Presence in this case is 95% successful to stop speeding.

I remember a video a while back a guy was mad at cars speeding past his home so he made a reflective police car type outline thing that looked like a police car sitting on the side of the road and it slowed a lot of people down. lol

LOL, Officers don't have to sit anywhere with their lights on just for you to see them. Next, All we have to do is be visible up to 500ft. Also people don't slow in Ga just because they see a cop most of them slow down to be nosey. State Patrol can sit anywhere and radar/laser without you seeing them, they don't have to be visible. It's funny how much some of you complain about cops, but don't see anything wrong with how you drive. Maybe we should stop writing tickets, so if one of you gets killed by a reckless or a speeding or drunk driver, we can refer back to this thread.

Its the law within this state (OHIO) that an (and I believe any) law enforcement type be labeled properly and be visible within 500ft. Although this was directed at the OP, I am against it because anyone and everyone who drives deals with the ever hidden law officers of this country. I do drive fast and travel more than 60% of the yr so I am exposed to this quite often. I will forever incur tickets and use devices to aid me in my travels at reasonable speeds.

Also, u fail to acknowledge the difference between speeding and excessive speed that I've mentioned in my posts. I complain because I actually drive. I do not own a modded, lowers, high power car I get in trouble with. I'm a traveller. I find it unfair to slight speeders that go through areas that arent known to them when the speed drops from 65 to 55 and during that trip be ticketed in the area because they maintained 65 in cruise mode or other, just because.

It'd be different if I was yelling fuck the police, had a loud car, burnin up and down the highway, but on a trip of 500miles or more, it happens, the driver may be unaware, but the cops are just out to get u, just because.

They hide at the creasts of hills, in dips in the road, behind buildings, in clusters and teams on top of crossways. One cop on the bridge, one hidden just up ahead, in lots, unmarked off the roadway, in planes, boats and even in cars that TRY to race you. All that and the person driving is simply driving, like he/she was 100miles ago, 1 state ago. Speed trapping you is unfair.

If u want another example, get a credit card, buy something, pay on the credit card, make the same payments 4months in a row, then the credit card company fines u because your actual payment went down. U pay the fine and the total amount u would normally pay every month again. But this time, u have "points."

^I believe this is a horrible example lol but I'm rollin with it. Oh and about the headlights on at night, yes thats the law (the law is different obviously for the southern states I've been through)

Man, you people never give up. Regardless if the speed drops from 65 to 55, and you are still cruising at 65 you are still speeding. It is the job of every driver to be aware of their surroundings, which includes any signs which aids, or directs you. People have to stop making excuses, because if you have a accident what will you say then. It's funny how people believe that we write tickets to be assholes, but that's not the case. Also every ticket we write doesn't go to that city or county, a bunch of the go to the state, so you might want to ask the governor where that money goes.

Also, whats is the difference between speeding and excessive speeding? It's still breaking the law. Speeding and excessive speeding is done everyday by every driver, regardless if they admit it or not. The ones who always get caught are always the ones to complain.

The difference between the two? Flying through a neighborhood at 70-80, or 35 in a parking lot or 30 in a school zone are inexcusable. Driving down a freeway and the speed limit changes for 4 miles within the limits of some town of whom does not directly intercept the thoroughfare that has officers justa waiting to catch the next person who enters the area.

I'm not complaining about the "speed" part of this equation. I'm refering to the way in which it occurs. I am well aware that I will collect tickets all my life and I will pay for them, that doesnt bother me. Its the way in which it is carried out. Because, its Law, you can talk and talk about it. And if you happen to be one of those officers, good job at slowing and stopping us who speed. It helps, but skeeming to catch a driver is nonsense.

U must hardly travel long distance.

Different states have different laws and enforcement methods. As most of the posters on this site are in GA, they should know the GA Code: http://www.lexis-nexis.com/hottopics/gacode/

I agree with you on this one - especially the bolded part.

I disagree on this. There are a lot of people who do not ever speed - even 1 mile per hour over the limit. My mother is one of those, as was my grandmother (she just quit driving recently at 94 with no accidents or tickets ever). There are plenty of people who do not speed, just as there are a lot of those who consistently speed.

I've made countless trips from Atlanta to Orlando and Miami, and have YET to be ticketed for speeding... and I ain't driving 55 all the way down. I go with the flow.

If I were to get a ticket for 1 MPH, yes I would gladly take it. But I believe it is more the way you drive. Do you cruise at a constant speed? or do you constantly change lane, tailgate, drive aggresively etc?

Most tickets are based on the way you drive. I have been stopped in Chattanooga around the 'bend' (river), and after being COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL, cop let me go.

Of course. Attitude will not get you anywhere but on IA bitching about cops......
