    Default Fuck Cops...Really.

I just wanted to say fuck cops. They don't do SHIT about anything important, they spend more time sitting on the side of the road writing tickets for going ten over than they do worrying about real crime.

Get off your lazy low life ass and do something for the people. I could care less if a truck passes me speeding. As he's speeding someone is raping a girl or robbing someone at gunpoint. Oh and when you call them they don't come until it's convenient.

Step your game up you ex-hallway patrol officers.

Cops enforce the law. Speeding is against the law.... I don't see where the confusion is. Also, it is hard for any cop to find a rape in progress, or a murder in progress. And lastly, it's not the police officers fault on the time frame they can get to a crime scene....We don't have the tax dollars to have 398734573458743975354857394 cops running around. Quit bitching.

Then they need to police themselves, b/c they are always speeding (like 90+) for no reason, and always cutting people off just to catch a speeder. I hardly think 1 speeder is worth risking a serious accident over. But yes speeding is illegal. The answer to that is to not get caught.

I'm just saying they need to focus on catching real criminals. I never said they could catch anyone but placing themselves in known places where crime happens and such helps, response can be up to them, if a cop is patrolling traffic and a call comes in...they could leave.

A neighbor was in desperate need of help once and I had to CALL TWICE to get the police there. The operator said they had four calls and they were coming, but I asked why so long, where are they? Lazy fucks. It took forty minutes to get there. The only time I've seen a cop come fast is when I mentioned "gun."

except filing a false report, which is what you are doing when you call.

Police response times suck, its a simple fact of life. It isnt going to ever change and it is rarely the individual cop's fault. It is mostly dispatch's fault. More times than not though a call is just going to be put at the end of the line unless there is cause to believe there is a risk to someone's life or the crime is in process.

I feel your pain on cops hauling ass with no lights or siren, but you can blame that on the dumb ass laws of this state. In many cases they are not allowed to use lights and siren.

I have personally spent time in the dispatch and can say for a fact it is often the officers fault.

as have I in Paulding county and Villa Rica. In not a single case was there a non-emergency call that was immediately dispatched. They sat on a desk and waited for an officer to radio in that the call he was on was completed.

Yeah, I have seen that more than a few times too. In Rockdale it is often the the officer who responds too slowly. Rockdale is full of crooked ass cops anyways, especially City.

LOL, reminds me when I was a manager at Taco Bell when I was a teen. We would have issue and need assistance getting people of the property. We would call the police and they would take 30 minutes to 2 hours to arrive. After that, I would hit the silent burglary alarm and they would be there in 10 minutes. Of coarse they were pissed...but they were there.

Um excuse me, excuse me. But cops are able to catch a speeder in progress since they just hang out on the freeway with nothing better to do. Cops can also hang around long enough to find a reason to pull over someone and investigate them and their car for whatever reason.

So tell me why an officer cannot hang in an obvious suspect neighborhood and just watch, have presense in a neighborhood that is known for and obviously notorious for being a haven for say, drugs, or rape or trafficking and the like? Why cant an officer just be there, or be 5 deep in an area like they do in Cleveland, TN on I-75 S/N or in the construction exit/entrance of I-75 S/N just outside Chattanooga, TN on I-285 at the Gwinnett CO line?

They can have all the tech and man-power to hassle travelers like myself, but they cant handle the hustle in a neighborhood. Bullshit

And as you probably know, when you did that, the McD's manager with the same non-emergency as you had had to wait another half hour.

    One problem with your theory.

Say the cops triple the patrols in a low income, majority black neighborhood. How long do you think it will take for Sharpton and Jackson to be on the news saying the cops are being racist and profiling because they arent patrolling and hanging out in the white neighborhoods too?

^^^^ if its a known bad area, then they wont be there. dont play the race card. Now if the cops were just pulling random people off the streets and harassing them then it would be handled as racism.

aslo, ive noticed that the white neighborhoods are considered "gated neighborhoods" were cops arnt able to patrol. they can only enter when they are called.

This isnt about patrol, this is about cop presence. This is to deter the hustle and violence in a neighborhood that is known-bad. All the man-power and gas wasted picking off casual speeders could be pulled to remove actual murderers and rapist and hustlers from streets. Whether ghetto or mid to upper level criminals of all types.

U talk about race like it was even an issue in this. Sharpton and Jackson dont talk solely about the "low-income" areas and you should know that you dont see cops patroling the white or light-skinned neighborhoods, just to patrol. My first apartment was in a "ghetto/low income area) and was pulled over many times and they patrol hardcore all day and night, but since I've moved up north (northern COL) I dont see any officers in my neighborhood unless called upon and respond in a reasonable amount of time.

    A) Just because they caught you speeding, or you see someone get caught speeding doesn't mean he wasted his whole day to catch that one or few people speeding.

    B) The Creeper is right; its terribly hard to actually catch a rape/murder/etc in progress as those are crimes not committed by a lot of people (relative to the population), as well as not being a "profitable" crime.

    C) I don't like the majority of comes, and I assume they're all assholes unless proven otherwise; the same way they seem to assume I'm a criminal unless proven otherwise.

They've never caught me speeding I have ZERO traffic tickets.

I never said they could catch it in the act, I'm speaking of response time and where they place themselves. It's been well discussed in here how they could show presence where real crime is and not where a simple speeder is.

Traffic safety is important but it doesn't take ALL the officers and hours of sitting and waiting for that one speeder.

Yesterday my girlfriends co-worker was robbed in their work parking lot, in the morning, in daylight. Two men walked up to her as she got out of her car and made her give over her purse and they left...on foot...on the sidewalk. She called the police and they showed up TWO HOURS later. If they would of came when she called they could of at LEAST scouted the neighborhoods around the business for the men described. Now those people are still out and WILL rob someone else. They could of snatched HER, beat her, there is no telling.

I have so many examples of events like that where the police really don't do a thing. It's bad when you have to sometimes call twice and yell at the people to make them do anything.

Officers simply showing presence in a known crime area WILL lower SOME of the crime. If it doesn't, there response time SHOULD be improved.

    Here are the facts.

If they arrest someone for a serious crime, and have to lock them up, it cost money.
If they ticket someone who makes a decent living, and he pays it, they make money.

Which do you think they are most interested it?

Why do you think that they prefer to take robbery reports over the phone now, and don't want to show up to dust for fingerprints when they are obviously there? I had that happen once many years ago. According to the cops, they never could solve it, and did not want the fingerprints left on the scene - and we knew that they were of the criminal. I found the person who broke in 4 days - and it was a random person who I did not know. I am not a detective, so why was I able to do a much better job than those trained and paid to solve these crimes? The reason is simple. I put in reasonable effort, and they were too lazy to do it - it doesn't have any financial gain for the department.

Well if that's the case fuck the USA.

By the way they did come and "investigate" the "scene" yesterday as I've seen before in other cases.

Have you ever been on a ride-along with a police department? Sounds like you should do one. Maybe you'll get a better understanding of what goes on during an officer's shift and all that they have to do. Just because they are sitting there running laser when you drive by, doesn't mean they've been there for 8 hours.

I kind of agree with Simon

If a cop spent more time patrolling a high crime area and not on the highway pulling people over you may actually be able to catch a crime in progress. You may even be able to keep some people from committing crime in those areas.

The problem with your theory is: the chances a cop catches a crime in progress is one in a million. Cops can't be everywhere at once and think about it. If you were going to rob a bank, are you going to do it with the police car sitting across the street? Criminals aren't the smartest people in the world but they're not retarded. What you guys don't realize is that most serious criminals are caught when they are stopped for a traffic offense such as speeding from the scene of a bank robbery.

one time i got pulled over cause i was driving the speed limit at 2am with a exhaust on my car at like 2 thousand rpms stayed in my lane used my blinkers and when the cop came up he told me he pulled me over cause i looked suspicious? i was like wtf? then proceded to interigate me like i did something wrong. he asked me why i was driving at 2am which is none of his buisness, why i had gauges in my car, why i had a exhaust, pretty much everything you could think of. after he bullshited for 15 min he let me go and gave me a ticket for my lincese plate light being dim.....i said officer they are both on. he said no there not. i said look. sure enough they were both on and then he said u need to get new bulbs because the light should shine on the ground, thats how bright they need to be. i said im sorry i have a 15 year old car and over the years crub gets in the lenses and makes them dirty. he said have a good night and ill see you in court. when i showed up i brought a picture of both of them funtional. ticket was dropped and the solicting officers were like why would he even give u this as a ticket. i said he was a dick. they looked at the badge number and said yeah he famil with that cop and asked me if i wanted to file a report and i said no since the ticket was droped.
