    Default Worries Me

Does anyone else here ever see people (short women) driving around with their seat right in the steering wheel....today i saw a girl 5 foot tall riving a big body family car sitting with her face no more than 5" from the steering wheel and i can't help but to think what would happen if they wrecked....do these people not realize what happens when an airbag deploys....i mean it's great you want a big car and all but if you are that short maybe you should buy somthing better suited to your build....and later today i was behind a man and his wife and you could barely see his head over the steering wheel....does this bug anyone else or is it just me?

Leisa has to drive like that When I get in her car, I cant even get in the seat with the way her seat has to be, its so close to the wheels she is up against it almost, scares me if the airbag ever goes off, But.... She is so short her feet cant touch the peddles anyother way

yea....just seein some of these people i honestly wonder if they really realize what would happen to them....i mean someone driving a big body car could just as easily have bought a civic or accord and not have nearly the problems

I hear ya.. Airbags are a nice invention, but I sure as hell wouldn't wanna be sitting within a foot of one when they go off.. Had one possibly save my life when I rolled my 92, but that thing smacked me pretty good and I sit pretty far back... Can't imagine one up close. Guess nobody has informed these people that it's actual C4 that makes them go off..

some people do drive that way and not realize the danger of the airbag... and sue later on because of damage done by airbag... me on the other hand am scared of mine because i sit so close and have seen it could cause worse damage with it then without it so i disconnected and disassembled mine...

It isn't fun when it does go off. A friend and I both popped the airbags on purpose in his 95 DX back in 95 just to see what it felt like. I won't do that again. Later, QD.

Leisa... they make nice pedal stacks that would allow you to move a few inches back and not lose any drivability of the car.

You should really look into those... it would be like a shot gun going off in your face full of fabric.

All those women that sit that close should bit the bullet and get some nice stacks...its a lot better than getting hurt by an airbag.

I sit way back, but when I totalled my first civic I went flying forward (yes I had my seat belt on). I was within a few inches of the steering wheel when it went off. Wasn't that bad, a lot better than hitting my head on the wheel or fucking up my neck from my head whipping too far forward. I had glasses on too. I believe in airbags.

being a short person i can comment on this - i don't sit that close to the steering wheel, but since i am short - my legs are short and we have to sit closer so we can reach the pedals - but the air bags aren't my fear.

my biggest fear of being short and being in an accident is the seatbelt - the thing runs straight across my neck - i am more worried it will break my neck.

I am 4"11 and 90% of the time I drive my mom's Durango, so I try to be extra carefull because I am scared to death that I might wreck and the air bag come out and break my neck or something. Being short does suck.
