On behalf of the entire Import Showdown volunteer staff and the folks at GA DSM I definitely want to express you are in our thoughts and prayers. We heard about the accident shortly after leaving the track, many of our members forced to detour. Truly a tough thing to hear, watching Widdy run the event all day just before. We are pulling for a full recovery as quick as possible. When the time is right, we definitely stand prepared to offer whatever assistance they need or we can do, as an event and organization, to help.

I spoke to his girlfriend's friend who is at the hospital and she said that Widdy is in ICU and they were able to see him. She also told me that Widdy will require 7 more surgeries. He is sill in stable condition.. I'll post more info ASAP

When you see him, please let him know we have him in our thoughts and prayers. I don't know him personally and I don't think he wants random people coming to see him.

I don't even post on this site anymore. But I logged in after I got a phone call from Danny. Widdy, man I hope you get a chance to read all of these messages. It's nice to see people being cool about the whole situation. I really am praying for you and I hope everything works out for the best. Widdy is out of surgery, he is responsive.. he going to need a few more though... please keep praying for him, his family, and friends. if u've met him, pray for him. but for now, only immediate family are seeing him at the hospital. visitors are limited. the other passenger (Chris), one of our co-workers, he mainly needs some sticthes & staples. but he going to pull thru. pray for him as well.. if any thing else arrises, ill update!

We just ask everyone to be a little more sensitive to the subject. Updates on his condition , etc is always welcome news.

Please dont think we are trying to keep everyone quiet about the situation for other reasons. Its just more for his respect and his families.

I just spoke to his sister and asked her for permission to disclose his condition. She told me that widdy is on life support just as a precaution measure but he is coherent and is aware of were he is at. He is expected to be taken off life support in a couple of days. Like Steven said visitation is limited though.. His sister also told me to thank everyone for the support and prayers...

Man, its really hard to comment on this after spending the whole day at the track with him...Widdy is the type of guy you can meet one time and he will make an impact on you for years to come. He is an AMAZING guy, and im so glad to hear he should make a full recovery. The world would be a much sadder place without you man. I will most definately be down to see you later this week! UPDATE!!!!! The passanger (Chris) was released from the hospital a couple of hrs ago he's ok just bumps and scratches, and a few cuts. I hope he feels better..

after i redlighted in the second round i just packed up and left (i been fighting the flue for 2 weeks) and my phone is broke from sweating in it while working on the car sunday. I went strait home went to bed woke up and went to the er then get home and read this man i hate that this happened. I dont know him but ive been around for along time and sure ive meet him . i realy wish you the best man and coming from someone thats fights everyday just to work and get done what i need to do ([people that know me know i got chrons disease) its always a struggle man but its always worth it . If you need anything just ask doesnt matter what it is we will make it happen hope everything works out .
