personally i dont mind as much when another black person calls me that, i know their is no harm involved. kind of like a freind who has the same car as you callin your ride a pos. you know he is just jokin. but with other races i feel uncomfortable and disrespected. 99% of the time the other races use it its meant to be that way. The bold part lies the problem. You don't see a special ed class calling each others fucking retarded do you. While i personally do think it would be entertaining, at the end of the day its dumb as fuck.

Or how about the fact that every time I apply for a job, I have to answer the shit of what race I am? Or the fact that at most colleges (hell even high school) you can get a "minority" scholarship because you are "non caucasion".

I'm all about equal rights but if you want respect, you have to earn it and using a slur from the pre1860's instead or a "hey, whats up?" is not the way to do so.

Wow, this blew up. I personally used to use nigga all the time. I grew up in Atlanta and have had mostly black friends who felt it was ok for me to use it. Once another person outside of the "click" called them nigga, they would get offended. As I got older I realized how stupid and hypocritical it was. It was funny bc even I thought others were being racist when they said it, but not when I used the word.

There is a group of brothers (actual brothers) that I work with who feel it is ok for me to call them nigga in a friendly way. They know how I grew up, so they think I kind of earned to use it in a way. It is pretty stupid and only recently in the past year stopped using it.
