What I think is rice:
Extremely buzzy exhaust
Huge body kit that doesn't retain stock body lines
Double stack or too tall/big wings
Drift charms (I'll let the rotary guys slide with the pistons though, thats just good ole rivalry there)
Stickers all over (shocker, DC, other skateboard fag brands)
JDM (Fanboys, JDM this blah blah stupid shit. Its what will be laughed at 5 years from now and even today lol)
Fitment (over doing it, over stretching, too much)
Just too much shit to list. There is a fine line though.

my honest opinion is that we are swinging back into a show car mentality, not to the effect it was 7-10 years ago with body kits and neons....but still the same
i.e. crazy offset wheels, "stance", wheel spacers, stretched tires, the idiotic graffiti crap, rwd styled wheels on fwd's, etc....all stuff that serves no purpose other than being appealing to the owner and others, which is my definition of rice anyway....if it isn't functional what's the purpose of it?
my last couple of cars have been nothing but functional....no turning signals, no lips, no wheels (other than the gto, which i had to do b/c two of the original wheels had repaired cracks and i just don't roll like that), no useless crap....it's all about function, make it go faster, make it turn better, etc...the rest is just eye candy that i'm too old to give a shit about anymore
And for real, why worry about being JDM when you have better things to worry about? Like getting shit on your hand in the process of wiping your ass.

the only thing that gets me aggravated anymore is that i love the car pictures sub forum, absolutely love it, even if i don't agree with what people do to their cars i like to see it....but i'm getting sick of seeing nothing but shots of how flush peoples wheels are, shots that are all about tucking their tires and crap....noone cares whats under the hood or in the car anymore, it's all about how flush the rotas are
there are only a handful of guys who still take pictures the right way.....

I just think its funny that every Honda owner thinks their car is Strait from japan when it was built in America. I think these days jdm has a new meaning to most people. When someone says their car is jdm now a days its usually means they have tow hooks, body kits , and stickers and wings and it has nothing to do with a product being made for the Japanese market and imported here. Just becuase you buy jdm spec headlights doesnt mean your car is jdm, if i put a honda civic seat in my car it doesnt mean it is a honda.
