Send him a PM on HT and thank him for screwing up your thread and in return, you'd like to send those papers you found in the car back to him. Tell him what papers you found. It might make him paranoid that you have this info and he may work with you on trying to sell the car.
But either way, attempt to return those papers to him. There is no other right way but that. Later, QD.
