One way to catch a cold?

So since it's been cold, When i come in my house, I leave my coat on till i go back outside. I sat down with my g maw to watch TV and she tells me to take off my coat. I explained i would like to keep it on. And then i was informed thats how you catch a cold. In matter of fact when you wear you coat inside and then go outside the coat doesn't work any more! Can any one spread some more light on this?

Catching a cold is from a virus not from not wearing your coat or wearing your coat inside, but I wouldn't tell my sweet ole g maw that, I'd just take the coat off.

because your bodies temp is used to the coat and has balanced itself out so when you re-enter the outside cold the coat is not doing its job because you never removed it to let your body temp without the coat get normalized

They say if you get really warm and hot it opens your skin pores more. Some say when you go out in the cold and you are really warm it can give you a cold (w/out a jacket or warm cothing), though wearing the jacket I really said thats a fluke what she said. This is like an urban legend though, but ya most colds/sicknesses are viruses.
