I'm looking again....time for an upgrade.
Hey if you guys want to go work for some asshole Muslims doing tech support who treat you like shit and make you work 11pm-7am on the weekends then go apply to Guarded Systems in Roswell. These guys send their money back to Pakistan instead of helping the American economy, all they ever talk about is how great Pakistan is and how wonderful it is to be Muslim, which is why I quit. They voted for Obama too, and they love Islam, so they can kiss my ass, not even worth the money, I'd rather be unemployed then work for them, but go ahead and apply! :D
Everything but Columbus. And we're actually growing, albeit not very much, I think by nearly 6% a year, but we are. Also, the cost of living here is as low as most of the entire southern region and u dont get ripped off for living within the city limits.
Also, this city does not rely as heavily upon tourism as yours. Hence why this city and most of the state is considered boring. Many, many more corporations and Corp Headquarters exist within our city limits. Most of Charlestons employment is within the medical field and tourism, what else is going on? Yea, u have a pretty state, but so is Virginia.
Columbus' economy runs on research, defense, technology, insurance, finance as it used to be the Corp headquarters of Bank One which is now J.P.Morgan Chase, obviously logistics (for its location and the reasoning on why this place grew during the steel age) BEER, like the ridiculous presence of Budweiser and of course it being the capital of Ohio. We were hardly affected during the recession.
About Michigan: the country knows that state waxes and wanes with the automotive industry, clearly theres a reason why u see lots of Michigonians around the south and elsewhere. Detriot is a very large city, once the automotive industry suffers, people must find work. Lots of them are even within our city now, looking for work.

If you are looking for shit jobs then you need a different resume. I have a bachelors degree and I work at a desk job during the week(38k/y) Trying to move into management and I think I will get there withing the next couple of years.
Anyway before I started there I worked a shit job at a decoration store to get by. I sent them a resume with no college education on it. They never knew I had a degree. My boss had much less education than me. Had he known I had a BBA... never woulda hired me. A manager wont want to hire somebody with more education and experience than him in most cases.
Now I also applied for a weekend job and again I sent my dumbed dow resume. I worked as a security guard in a youth rehab center on weekend. Worked there for 3 months till I moved to get close to my week job. And there as well they have no idea about my education and my real work experience.
I basicaly have two standard resumes. One for professional positions and one for crappy jobs.
i really thought about doing this, but i believed in putting everything out there at once...
what about my job as a CAD Technician...i mean thats my most recent job..if i give them a resume stating basically that i havent worked since Feb. 2007(the job i had at bilo) then they are gona wonder, why do i have such a long time without a job, ya know
Then get a job and quit whining.
Go apply at the mall, go apply at CiCi's pizza, go apply at mcdonalds for all I care as long as it is local and not run by foreigners, help the economy if you can. I know we all have skills that we thought were useful, but we really need to be learning more trades and go back to the land in my opinion. We need to farm more, mine more, create wealth and infrastructure, not be ruled by a huge Federal government that can't even agree with themselves. Localization will cure our country guys, get ready, there is going to be Chaos here just like Greece when the economy burns.
You can tone down your position. It's all about the wording. If it sounds too technical then they know you will be UNDERemployed with them and keep looking for a better job while working for them.
Let them think that this job is a good oportunity for you and not just a paycheck. Worked for me and they never knew what kind of education I had or my previous salary etc...
I made this decision after being old at an interview "you sound like a great candidate for this job but we know youll leave as soon as you recieve a better offer from another company" That was at an interview as a service rep for BMW dealership. The bet the guy interviewing me had less education than me. I was perfect for this job, I know my BMWs and I'm a fanatic. after that I made a different resume for entry level positions.
