    ^ What store?

    Chain driven Chris!

Dj- Red rope pulled - I disconnected it.

Motor makes noise like it's active but doesn't pull.

Yeah, the gear connected to the chain is still intact.

I have not opened it though.

If you can open the side and gain access to the sprocket. check to see if the shaft has a key (there will be a slot where a little rectangular piece of metal goes). If it is keyed make sure the key is still there. If it isnt keyed, hit the open button, and see if the shaft is spinning around inside the sprocket. If the shaft is turning and the sprocket is not, you need to tighten the set screws on the sprocket, there should be 2 about 90 degrees apart.

can be many things. Check the easy stuff first.

-Anything blocking the sensor...as dumb as it sounds, sometimes a random ass leaf or whatever blocks it.

-Check the light on the sensor. See if its flickering/different color.

-See if the chain is on the gear still. It can be slipping.

-See if anything is causing the chain to be jammed or the gear.

    What he said.

You can also try pulling down on the garage door as you push the button. Maybe it just got caught up on something.

^ I'll come check you one day.

Let me know when you run a special like 5qts of mobile 1 oil for $8 lol...wait NO REALLY!

    UPDATE:

Garage fixed one of the gears were shredded (plastic drive gears to keep motor from burning out)

3 hours of labor which would be 45minutes if i did it all over again.

    Garage is FIXED

    p.s

OVERHEAD DOOR wanted to charge $400 to repair it.

My repair cost: 17 (Gear kit) 12 (Pin Punch kit).

    Me being the MAN: priceless.

Now I can fix like 80% of garage door openers since most are built the same.

So you basically looked at the thread title ONLY before responding.

    selective reading causes that.
