You're missing the point man. Subway has two different ways to order a sandwich. 6" and 12". If you order a 12", don't automatically expect the person there to automatically split it up for your coupon. A person with a bit of reasoning may do so, but if you simply let them know before they start your order, anyone will be able to piece things together for you.

"Hi, I'd like to get 12" sub but can I get that totalled up as two 6" subs so that I can use my coupon?"

It's that simple.

This is true, but when it's never been an issue in year before..such thought process isn't deemed as needed and thus a routeine develops.


I should have just grabbed a plastic knife, cut the sandwich in half myself and said "here. There are my two 6" subs and here is my coupong for buy one 6" get one 6" for free".

Granted, but she might have been new. You never know.

Reminds me of the customers at QT when we had the "4x Pepsi 12-Packs for $10" and "4x Coke 12-Packs for $10" deals going at the same time. Customers always wanted to mix-and-match.

Cust: "Well can I get two Mountain Dews, a Pepsi, and a Diet Coke?"
Ran: "No, because Diet Coke is a Coke product. It has to be four Pepsi OR four Coke products."
Cust: "Well, what about two Mountain Dews, a Coke, and a Diet Coke?"
Ran: "Again, no because you can't mix and match."
Cust: "Why not?"
