You should have asked before you got to the counter if you can do that. Yeah your situation should have been resolved better, but you did make it a little difficult by not follwoing the coupon literally. And if she said you can't use both, then the coupon probably reads "cannot be combined with other coupons" in fine print on the bottom. In which case you don't just "do two transactions" they can refuse to use the 2nd one at all that day because they know you're still the same customer, under limit 1 per customer. You really did make it more difficult by being cheap as hell trying to get $12 of food for $6 with a combination of coupons that aren't meant to be used together, and by just going against the grain and ringing it up weird. Sometimes a 12 inch sub uses more meat per inch, or different proportioning, it might not exactly be two 6 inch subs, and it probably costs a little less than two 6 inch subs at dollar per ounce too. Next time read the coupon and take it as literally as you can, I work at Chick-fil-a and it is annoying as hell when people come in and they're like "this is for a salad but I want a milkshake". Yeah, I have to take it, but damn, you're already getting free shit, why the fuck do you have to be so picky? Ugh, us fast fooders aren't any worse than the average customer, you'd be surprised some of the shit you try and do to us and how dumb YOU can sound, it goes both ways.

My favorite "the other Chick-fil-A let me substitute my kids meal fries for coleslaw, why won't you?" Well, they're independently owned, and a coleslaw can be substituted for a medium fry at no additional charge in any adult meal, so why the fuck would it be just as equal as a swap for a small fry in a kids meal? If the other Chick-fil-A lets you do it, go there, I already told you we don't, am I supposed to be like "Oh, oh my THEY let you? I'm sorry, I have to honor their store rules then and do it too." No you're fucking retarded, if I say no, don't argue, I am doing my job and I guarantee you I know how the menu and rules of my store work better than you do.

Thanks for the laughs guys. Rather than throwing insults, let me point out that I never asked for the difference back. It's the concept that she could have asked what kinda of sandwich it was before just assuming. In all the times that I have used coupons at SubWay, no one has ever given a flyingfuck if I had more than one coupon or if I ordered a 12" sub on a buy one get one free deal.

Let me ask you this, if I go in and say 'I would like to order 2 6" subs on wheat'..you know what they're going to do? They are going to pull out a 12" piece of wheat and cut it in half. You know what is going to happen if I order a 12" sub? That's right, they cut it in half. Thin about that one?

BTW coupon did not say 'one per visit' or 'cannot be combined', it did say 'one percustomer' and I solved that by having my GF buy the 6" sub/chips/drink and I purchased the 12"....or wait... two 6" subs

Was it really worth what little you saved to go through all that?

if i had known that it would turn into a big ordeal...no. but in the countless times that i have ordered a 12" and used that coupon , not once has anyone been confused nor have i been questioned.

i've worked in FF, i know what its like..nor did i ever give a shit if someone used multiple coupons.

btw, i love how everyone is assuming that said coupons said "one per customer, per visit, cannont be combined" when in fact they only said "one per customer".

Gotta keep your eye out for that one person that actually does what's instructed.

The point is the literal order. If you just clarify beforehand, it'll probably be taken care of as requested. To just assume as such was a fault of yours.

"One Per Customer" sums it up pretty well. Having your girlfriend ring up the other one was a good way of getting around the technicality.

Basically, if you have coupons and intend to try and work the system to your benefit, just tell them before hand. I'm not gonna flame you on the deal, but I think you kinda brought this one upon yourself despite the clerks inability to remember what you ordered. lol
