I don't have time to wash my hands every 6 minutes when i wanna pick up my phone for shit. I've had several blackberries, all of which have had a ball, all of which have never malfunctioned. However i have seen a few people get water/sticky random shit in their blackberries and the ball fuck up. Some of the new ones come with a touch pad, which is pretty cool, but i like my ball.
