if there was a blank spot to your right what you should have done was pull the fuck into it, riding your ass in the fast lane usually means "YOU AREN'T USING THIS LANE RIGHT, IT'S FOR PASSING ONLY, YOU ARE GOING THE SAME SPEED AS THE CAR TO THE RIGHT OF YOU, NOT FASTER?!?!?!?!" that's what it means when I come up in the fast lane and flash my lights (I don't get that close though, one following too close charge was enough for me).

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

hahahaah. that pisses me off so bad when someone flashes their lights behind me. The other day I was on 400 and i saw a cop in the distance so I slowed down. This bitch behind me starts flashing her lights.

see what pisses me off is that THIS pisses people off. It's called FLASH TO PASS. It is not a sign of aggression, I am not flashing to say fuck you, I am not trying to blind you, it's just that I don't have your phone number and can't call you and politely say "Hey, I am behind you, I don't know if you saw me approach you in your rear view or not but you might have noticed I was going faster until you became an obstacle to me. I would very much appreciate it if you would find a decent gap to your right to occupy for a short time while I make a pass in this lane which is designed for me to pass you, then you can come back into this lane and continue the passes you were making, just slower than I wished to travel, if I am going too fast and get a speeding ticket for it, that's a problem I will have to deal with, have a nice day." I'll flash, because I want to pass, it is nothing personal, and I am not trying to be a dick, I just assumed you didn't notice me, and would like to be noticed so that you can help me properly use the lane to be on my way, but no, people take it as a sign of "hey asshole, move the fuck over" which it is not.

    In California:

21753. Except when passing on the right is permitted, the driver of an overtaken vehicle shall safely move to the right-hand side of the highway in favor of the overtaking vehicle after an audible signal or a momentary flash of headlights by the overtaking vehicle, and shall not increase the speed of his or her vehicle until completely passed by the overtaking vehicle. This section does not require the driver of an overtaken vehicle to drive on the shoulder of the highway in order to allow the overtaking vehicle to pass.

Also, this below is from Wiki, so not a very credible source, but it's how I feel

In Germany it is common to signal a lane change toward the center of the road, as if there were another lane to the left of the "fast lane".
Most commonly, motorists will attempt to overtake the outer car on the inner lane either to continue at a fast pace or to pass a car that is simply going too slow in the passing lane. For high-capacity multilane freeways (three or more lanes per direction), many motorists often pass on the inner lane, largely in response to misuse of the "passing lane" by slower traffic.
I know it's illegal, but there is NO safe way for a non officer to enforce the passing lane laws. If someone doesn't know the rule, and why should they, I mean, American driver's ed doesn't touch on the left lane laws(this REALLY pisses me off), then they will forever cause problems by misusing the lane. And cops hardly ever actually pull people over for cruising in the left lane and giving them the "disrupting the flow of traffic" charge they deserve. I don't see why flashing the lights is considered rude, so long as you're not on their ass.

Flash to Pass is in Europe only (and California). My European motorcycle had the switch but no US bound European cars have the switch that I have seen.

First, no I am not, but you said name ANY state where it si legal, and I did, don't try to dispute that. Also, you didn't read what I wrote below the wiki link did you? Also, the "IN GERMANY" ytou highlighted isn't pertaining to the flashing either, it's to using your left blinker......

I AM AWARE IT IS ILLEGAL BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME. Flashing to pass is the only non harmful way to try to get people to use the passing lane properly, when they can match pace with the car to the right of them and slow down your commute, all because THEY are breaking the laws, but the law has left you with no way of letting them know they are in the wrong and how it is fucking up your commute. The countries that actually allow flashing to pass have it right. I said I was aware that it is illegal already though, so I still don't get what you're trying to tell me.
