Well, to an extent. That's why the hype is continuing. Had he kept his meetings, let out the facts, and done everything, the media would still be all over it. However, it would've started to die down by now. Instead every day there's a new development which is why the case keeps pursuing, something "new" keeps happening.

He wasn't drunk - the Troopers already mentioned that in his statement. Furthermore where you are going to and where you are coming from is not required information at a crash unless you are under restricted driving conditions (i.e only can go to work/school).
