Someone steals your car. The police can't/won't help so you take matters in your own hands. You find the dude and rough him up or whatever; shoot him. Well you WILL get caught on that note and you end up in jail. Or say you kill the dude. Now you've got life (or most of it) behind bars. If the dude doesn't die, then it's a win/win situation for him because not only did he get your car, but you are the one that goes to jail over it. If you kill the dude, then you're giving up 25+ years of your life over a Honda? Or any car? No car is worth my freedom.
I've never understood why people think that a car is worth their life. If the police don't/can't do anything about it, I'm chalking it up as a loss and will be better prepared the next time.
