I ask for a discount on open box items all the time. Or display items. I was at Home Depot the other day and found a set of kitchen lights I wanted and they had 6 left. I needed two. Only one was in perfect shape. One other had one small dent in a place where I could mount it and not be seen. I asked if they could knock a few dollars off. These were $60 lights.
